Top 5 Attractions On A Segway Tour of Rome

Segway tours make for a fun way to discover Rome's history but, let's face it, if you choose to do one you're hardly going to be racing up the Spanish Steps! Here are five great sights in the City of Seven Hills that you can explore on wheels.

  • Trevi Fountain

    1. Trevi Fountain

Having set the scene to films from La Dolce Vita and Roman Holiday to the Lizzie McGuire Movie, the fabulous Trevi Fountain is as much a popular culture icon as it is an historical one!

  • Roman Forum

    2. Roman Forum

Many of Rome's ancient ruins can be seen at this renowned archaeological site, and it's just a short Segway ride from the Colosseum, Circus Maximus, and Arch of Constantine.

  • Piazza Navona

    3. Piazza Navona

If the shape of the square bears an uncanny resemblance to a charioteering stadium, that's because it was built upon the site of Ancient Rome's Stadium of Domitian!

  • Campo de’ Fiori

    4. Campo de’ Fiori

The "Field of Flowers" has been a market square since the 15th century. It still runs every morning, but the hustle and bustle continues well into night tour territory too!

  • St. Peter's Square

    5. St. Peter's Square

You may not be able to ride your Segway through St. Peter's Basilica, but you can still see the spectacular building and its impressive Vatican neighbors from this distinct plaza.

Planning Your Visit

  • How much does it cost?

Prices for Rome Segway tours start at €30 (per person) but can cost upwards of €150, largely dependent on the length of the tour and the Segway models offered. However, be aware that you may be required to leave a deposit on the machines.

  • Are there age limits or restrictions?

Your Segway tour is likely to have minimum and maximum weight restrictions in the region of 45kg (100lbs) to 118kg (260lbs). Lighter and heavier individuals can contact the tour provider for more precise information and guidance. Participants are required by law to be at least 16 years of age.

The bike tour was very good especially with the e-bikes as these made the ride much easier. Our guide was very knowledgeable and helpful as I fell twice! He was very helpful and kept close watch as we continued our journey. He took us past many very important places such as the Pantheon, Circus Maximus, and many of the city squares. The ride was amazing and our guide's knowledge made the tour magnificent!

The Gold Cart Tour was so fun! Mostly due to our awesome tour guide, Luca. He was so personable and knowledgeable about the city, too! He showed us the big things but also the lesser known gems of Rome. The local food and drink was also an amazing experience and overall we just really enjoyed seeing Rome in this way. Thanks Luca!

Our guide, Lucio, was informative and friendly. The adults and children in our group loved the views and the history of Rome. The e-bikes made going up hills effortless.

Really interesting and fun tour of Rome highlights. I wish I could have done it on the first day I was here. Super helpful.

Great tour with great people. The best way to experience Rome. We recommend the electrical bikes. Regards, Bas & Jeannette
