What people are saying about Almere

The Floriade was good, but not quite finished when I was there (4 days after it opened). The problem came when trying to get back to Almere by shuttle bus. There had been an accident on the road, the buses couldn’t get through, and although the organisers knew this, they didn’t tell us, so we were waiting for over 90 minutes with nowhere to sit, until somebody went to ask what was happening. The eventually sent us back to Almere by boat, told us we would get a refund by emailing them and asking, but they are only offering free tickets for later on in the year. Not much use if you live in the U.K! I enjoyed the exhibition but not the journey home.

Very good experience. I recommend this activity because the organization is perfect. The transfer by air-conditioned bus took place at the announced time and the driver even gave directions for the return in French. The duration on site is ideal because the site is huge and you have to walk a lot.

It was really hard to reach the car park as traffic signs were not enough... Most of the pavilons were not ready yet, so we could see only few. But it is very instructive, well planned and built especially for famillies with young children, or young learners. I would absolutely recommend

Finding a parking space is difficult!!!! Really badly signposted!!!! If you are coming from the direction of Den Haag, stay on the Autobahn until you see a large parking lot on your right. It is behind Almere, you will then be taken by bus to the entrance. Have fun, put on good shoes!

The Floriade was not ready yet; what open was interesting and well done! Plenty of toilets, points for food and drink, trash cans. When after 18.00 boat passengers still wanted to return to Almere, the boat came back! Had a nice day!
