Full description

Immerse yourself in the culture of the Netherlands on a tour through the jewels of the Dutch countryside. Visit a cheese producer, a clog factory, a fishing village, and see the iconic windmills.

Start your tour at Amsterdam’s Central Station and head in the company of your guide to the first destination of the day, Zaanse Schans. Admire the typical Dutch windmills of the town, and learn about how they are still used today.

Next, drive to the Waterland area to arrive at the second stop of the tour, Edam. Walk around some of the town’s most historical sites, including the town square where the famous cheese market used to take place.

Then, head to Volendam to visit a local cheese producer, learn about the production of Edam and Gouda cheeses, and try a cheese tasting. Head towards a clog factory next to discover the secrets of this typical Dutch shoe.

Finally, travel back in time to the 17th century as you wander through the fishermen’s houses in the Marken, and explore this quintessential fishing village.

Wonderful day, efficiently organised. Lovely coach, well driven by Heidi and fabulous commentary by our tour guide Kosta. I would definitely recommend this tour as it’s good to see outside of Amsterdam and learn about the Netherlands. Kosta on the coach mic was very humorous and made the wet day better. I added on the canal boat ride which was also excellent.

Rob was a phenomenal guide! His recommendations were great, he was very knowledgeable, personable, organized and timely. He kept a full bus load of people organized and on time with firmness and kindness. He went out of his way to chat and answer questions. Would highly recommend any tours with him!

We did this tour on August 8 and it was GREAT! Our guide Sara of 10, super nice, told us a lot of anecdotes and thanks to her we understood the history of each town (and the entire country) in a pleasant and interesting way, we were surprised. The time at each stop is the necessary to visit the main places of interest, but we were also able to take photos, buy souvenirs and try typical food. They already told us that the time to eat was fair, but following the recommendations of places that they gave us, we did not have any problem. Bus journeys are short, with great comfort and the possibility of leaving your belongings safely. In short, we loved it and recommend it to everyone :)
