Peschici: Private Puglia Tour

8. Peschici: Private Puglia Tour

Peschici is a charming seaside village in Gargano, in the north of Puglia. This guided tour will take you to one of the most beautiful resorts in the entire region, starting from the Porta del Ponte and entering the historic center. Within the city center you will discover palaces and churches with different architectural styles, which are the result of different historical periods and conquests. During the tour you will visit the church of Sant'Elia Profeta (the patron saint of Peschici), which is built with large blocks of marble stones from the local quarries, and has an imposing bell tower. The tour then continues towards the castle, the first structure built in the current historical center. The castle was built on the remains of a Greek stronghold by the Normans, who arrived in this land in around the year 1000. Over the years the castle has been remodeled, but continues to rise impressively close to the rocky ridge and dominate the sea. Over time it has been possible to recover several works of art, jewelry, old work tools, and clothes, which can be reviewed in the permanent exhibition (the museum of torture). Here you will find a total of 60 pieces, which represent periods ranging from the Middle Ages through to the Renaissance.

Molfetta: Private Artwork on the Sea Tour

9. Molfetta: Private Artwork on the Sea Tour

Your guided tour of Molfetta will start from the symbol of the city, the cathedral of San Corrado, which is dedicated to the patron saint of the city. Built near the port in the 12th century, it is a typical Romanesque construction with the distinction of having been built with 3 domes in axes, and with two bell towers clearly visible even several kilometers away. The tour will then continue through the historic center with a visit to the 17th-century Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta. It became a cathedral in 1785, since the Cathedral of San Corrado became inadequate to the needs of worship of the increased population. Within it are the preserved remains of the patron saint Conrad of Bavaria. Portrayed in the interior of the church is a Latin cross, with a barrel vaulted ceiling that was frescoed in 1887 by the Molfolini painter Michele Romano. A short distance between the alleys of the historic center, you will reach the tower of Passari, initially a gunboat which later became a lookout tower. The tower is majestic and compact, and at the base, the walls are massive and reach a thickness of 5 meters that gradually decreases up to the cord. From here you can climb up to the summit, from which you can admire a spectacular 360-degree view. In the center there are three gunboats, which are arranged in the three directions of the horizon.

A fun and interesting activity Some difficulties in finding your balance on the wavelets, but a striking spectacle in the caves!

Francesca is great, the great experience, the magnificent site and the discovery of paddleboarding on the waves charmed me.
