Full description

Visit sites that date back to 1350 at the Ayutthaya Historical Park. Learn about Buddhist history, architecture, and religion as you explore countless temples with your experienced tour guide. In the 18th century, much of Ayutthaya was destroyed by Burmese invaders; witness the structures in their various states of disrepair. Tree roots growing around scattered Buddha heads only adds to the historical charm of this unique destination. After departing from Bangkok bright and early, see Bang Pa-In Royal Palace en route to Ayutthaya. Used as a summer residence for ancient Thai kings, the golden pagodas and serene pools make for a great introduction to the region’s glorious past. After arriving in Ayutthaya, take several hours to explore fascinating ancient religious sites including Wat Mahathat, where a decapitated Buddha head sits nestled between ancient tree roots. Continue to Wat Mongkol Borpit, known for its enormous seated Buddha statue. Discover Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, the most holy and important complex of the ancient Thai capital. Finally, explore Wat Chaiwatthanaram, known for its towering stone chedis. This site is one of the main reasons Ayutthaya was awarded UNESCO status in 1991.

This experience was so worth it! Not only did we visit fantastic spots that would have been easy to do on our own, but our guide Tar was by far the best guide I have had in a long time! She was very friendly, was able to answer all of our questions, was very personable, and helped us capture our trip with some great photos! Tar certainly made this tour amazing and I would highly recommend this day trip - just be prepared for the sun and heat!

Our guide Tar couldn't have been more perfect. We loved the service and the whole experience. We went to all points with a lot of enthusiasm, and energy and were always in a good mood, and explaining all the information about the temples. She always had in mind our needs, as the heat was very strong. Best tour I ever did, thanks for everything. See you next time

We are a group of 4 on a day trip to Ayutthaya. The trip covered key landmarks and was a great way to spend a day learning about Thai history. We also had lunch at a wonderful Thai restaurant with great fried rice and pork. Our guide Tar was an excellent guide who was mindful of our comfort throughout the tour. She was also professional and very knowledgeable about Ayutthaya. She was hospitable, offering to take photos of us in the best spots at each landmark. It was a hot and sweltering day, but made a breeze due to Tar’s warm nature. Will recommend the trip to anyone.
