Frequently asked questions about Barcelona Balloon Tours

What are other things to do than Balloon Tours that are worth visiting in Barcelona?

The other unmissable things to do in Barcelona are:

Hot air balloon tours in Barcelona – enjoy a different point of view

Experience a bird’s-eye view of the stunning area with hot air balloon tours in Barcelona. You’ll get to soar above spectacular sights such as the Montserrat mountainside, the city of Barcelona, and the magnificent Mediterranean Sea.

What should I expect on a hot air balloon tour of Barcelona?

Enjoy breathtaking views from a balloon as you fly higher than three thousand feet above the earth over Catalonian landscapes. Enjoy incredible views of the Montserrat mountainside, one of the most spectacular landscapes in Catalonia, from a unique vantage point.

On a clear day, you might also be able to see the Montseny Natural Park, featuring forests, streams, green hills, and vast fields. Not to mention the coastal city of Barcelona and the Mediterranean Sea. Flight routes might also include views of diverse landscapes like the Costa Brava and the Pyrenees.

You’ll be guided to your destination by the wind and a pilot, so it’s always an adventure.

Hot air balloon tours for history lovers

For the history buffs, some tours include a visit to the famous Montserrat Monastery. The monastery is nearly a thousand years old and hosts an engraving of La Moreneta, the patron saint of Catalonia.

Cheers—you made it! Some tours include an option to celebrate the successful flight at the landing spot with an adult beverage. Toast to yourself for your bravery to take on the skies, and to the pilot or guide for his skill.

Some tours also offer a flight certificate signed by the pilot. That’s if you really want to prove to others that you braved the adventure and successfully completed the flight.

For some tours, there’s no need to allocate time to get to a meeting point, as you’ll be picked up from your hotel. (Note that this option is available only if you’re staying in the city of Barcelona.) Not sure if that covers your hotel? Don’t worry, you might be able to provide the address of where you’re staying when you book the tour. If you want to save some extra cash, there’s great news: some tours also include drop-off transportation to your hotel.

How long are most Barclona hot air balloon tours?

Hot air balloon tours in Barcelona last between 3 and 6.5 hours, with most flights being five to six hours.

The ride itself is typically at least an hour. The rest of the time may include pick-up and drop-off, meals, and more. For many hot air balloon tours, you may be able to inflate your own hot air balloon—with the assistance of the pros, of course.´What do I need to prepare for generally?

Believe it or not, Barcelona tends to have lots of great sunshine! You might have an ideal chance to improve your tan from three-thousand-plus feet in the sky. For the palest of travelers (and to avoid terrible tan lines), you may want to bring some sun protection. Remember, the sun is stronger up there!

Private hot air balloon tours in Barcelona

For those who want an unforgettable setting to share with a loved one, private tours are also available. Celebrate a birthday or even propose to your special someone in the sky!

Don’t forget to bring your phone, camera, or selfie stick (but whatever you do, don’t drop it!). If you’re worried about how to snap photos up there, don’t worry—some tours include a little photoshoot. Remember the flight with enduring pictures without the stress of getting the perfect shot yourself.

The sky’s the limit! As an extra bonus, some tours include a meal and stops at certain landmarks. Super chill.

Good tips and things to know about hot air balloon tours

Don’t worry—during the whole ride, you’ll be able to enjoy tours given in English. And for those advanced speakers who want to perfect their Spanish, you can listen “en Español.”

Note that many tour operators kindly ask that you don’t fly in some cases. These include being pregnant, suffering from leg or back problems, being a small child, or being unable to stand during the flight. If you’re in doubt, check beforehand.

There’s even great news if you’re a wheelchair user: some tours are fully accessible. If in doubt, ask if this option is offered before booking.

Had the most amazing and memorable experience. We got picked up at the Hard Rock cafe, easy check in. A 45 min drive to Vic for the most amazing chocolate croissants we have tasted. The balloon ride was smooth, and Santi would give us lots of information about controlling the balloon (which was my hubby and son loved) and the sites. The champagne toast at the end was fun. I would highly recommend doing this excursion.

This was an amazing outing! Angel, the pilot, was excellent, and having the opportunity to not only see the process from beginning to end, but to be allowed to help a little made the experience just that much richer! We would HIGHLY recommend this excursion to anyone interested in a different view of Barcelona! Great value for money! Angel, Maria and Tito were SUPERB hosts and guides!

Fantastic experience overall - friendly and knowledgeable guides, incredible time on the balloon and delicious traditional breakfast afterwards. Top marks!

Great experience that I will recommend to everyone. Lucas and 'Angel' are very good. We had a really nice time.

This was such a memorable experience! Truly magical.
