    Explore the spectacular views and spirituality of mysterious Montserrat on this half-day small group tour. Your local guide will share why this mountain is important to the Catalan identity and debunk common myths.

    Make the drive up to magical Montserrat, a rocky mountain 2,380 feet above sea level that's known for the whimsical peaks, valleys and caves, religious connections and magnificent scenery.

    Explore the famous Benedictine Monastery of Santa Maria de Montserrat. This religious site includes the Basilica, where you can touch the sphere of the Virgin of Montserrat or "La Moreneta", best known as the Black Madonna.

    After ticking off the religious sites and history, explore the lush national park with your guide. Pass by the Holy Cave, where according to the legend the Virgin appeared to two shepherds in the year 880.

    Finish this half-day tour listening to the angelic voices of La Escolania de Montserrat, one of the oldest children's choirs in Europe.

    The morning tour will return to Barcelona around 2:30 PM, while the afternoon tour returns at approximately 8:30 PM.

    The guide (Valentina) was really friendly and helpful. She gave us the information that we really wanted and did not bore us with unnecessary details. All the things she's mentioned are very interesting. We had free time to do a short hike and explore on our own as well which was great. The driver was very friendly too. Overall, this is an activity that should not be missed when in Barcelona! I definitely did not expect the views to be so breathtaking. PS: it is a huge, huge advantage that they offer pick-up and drop-off!!

    The journey started with pickup right at our Airbnb door. Our guide was excellent, with tons of information about our trip up to Montserrat. The drive was about 45 minutes, and our guide gave us information about where we were during the ride. Once at the location, we started to explore the buildings. We walked for about an hour and slipped into the Chapple, courtyard, and the old gate. Next, we walked (uphill, FYI) up to the cross for even better mountain views. After the walk back to the main area, we had some free time before we left. Our guide stopped at a few locations back down the mountain. We were dropped back at our Airbnb safely after the drive back. THIS TRIP IS A MUST IF YOU'RE IN BARCELONA FOR A FEW DAYS!

    It was a lot less crowded than the day tour and the weather was perfect for all the hiking. It was nice to have someone drive vs driving on your own or taking the train/cable/funicular. Our guide gave us info we asked for & didn’t overwhelm us with too much. Very interesting grounding spiritual energy up there.
