Bisceglie is a pretty little town 35 kilometers north of Bari, close to Trani and Barletta. The guided route will begin from the historic center, rich in churches and palaces of the 16th and 17th centuries.  During the tour, you will visit the Saint Peter Apostle of 1073 A.D. in Romanesque Apulian style with relics inside of the Saints Martyrs Mauro, Sergio and Pantaleone. The tour will continue in the historical center with the visit of some of the most important noble palaces such as Frisari Palace and Tupputi Palace and the Church of Sant'Adoeno, also of Romanesque style and built in the same year as the cathedral. According to a local legend, on the occasion of the wedding of Lucrezia Borgia, Countess of Bisceglie with Alfonso of Aragon, the clerics of the Monastery of St. Louis prepared these sweets, which proclaim the weddings of the two nobles. It is a light sponge cake made with egg and flour flavored with lemon zest. Its interior is stuffed with a cream with milk and vanilla, all covered with a thin sugar icing. The tour will end at the 27 meter high tower and the ruins of the Swabian Angevin Castle.

Discover Barletta, famous for the Challenge that occurred between 13 Italian knights and 13 French knights in 1503. Begin with a visit to the medieval castle of the eleventh century, founded by the Normans and expanded by the Spanish in the sixteenth century. Among the sculptures preserved in the castle, you can visit the bust of Emperor Frederick II Hohenstaufen of Swabia limestone, dating from the thirteenth century. Go on to visit the historic "Winery of the Challenge", historically known as the "House of Poison" for the challenge famous challenge that was launched there. After the winery, discover the Cathedral of Santa Maria Maggiore of the twelfth century, the most important church in Barletta. The cathedral is divided into two parts, the front being a typically Romanesque architectural style of the twelfth century, while the back part is of Gothic architectural style of the fourteenth century. The tour will end outside the baroque palace "Della Marra", with paintings by Giuseppe De Nittis and the visit of the bronze giant named Heraclius next to the Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre.
