Adelaide: McLaren Vale & The Cube Day Trip

1. Adelaide: McLaren Vale & The Cube Day Trip

Leave Adelaide and head out along the metropolitan coastline. Enjoy coastal views as you head to McLaren Vale Information Centre for morning tea. There is an opportunity to sample wines from some of the regions smaller wineries that do not have cellar doors at an additional cost. Then, head to d’Arenberg Cube. Nestled amongst vineyards, this 5-level “Rubiks cube” has been carefully designed to entice and excite the senses. See the Alternate Realities Museum and art installations and enjoy a formal wine tasting before heading to Polly’s Restaurant for your 2-course lunch. Visit Beresford Wines and choose from one of 3 tastings. Select from wine, craft beer, or spirit and gin tastings dependent on your mood. Finally, head for Wirra Wirra Vineyards, located amongst the gum trees in the historic ironstone cellars. Enjoy a tour of the cellars and a structured tasting of their range of quality wines. Finish the day with some spare time in the main street of McLaren Vale. Pop into the Menz Chocolate Store for some sweet treats, wander up the road to Blessed Cheese, or explore the Fleurieu Arthouse house, before settling back on the coach for your return trip to Adelaide.

If you are loking for a different winery experience, this is the one to do. The Cube was fascinating in it's design and history of the creation. The guide was very knowledgable and general vibe was fun and quirky. Fun day all round, but it would have been nice to spend more time at one of the wineries, felt very rushed.

I had a fantastic day, The Cube and the lunch, then 3 more wineries and morning tea at Information Centre where I bought a nice bag. I met so many interesting and friendly passengers... I also bought a lovely dress and yes some wine! Thank you I had a great day.

It was well worth it..Lovely coach to travel on. Friendly people. Great food. The cube made it more interesting and fun to add to the trip.

A great day, not rushed but very enjoyable. The cube was the highlight. The driver was really good.

Not just your average wine tasting so perfect for those looking for something different
