Full description

Begin the day with a pick-up from your accommodation in a comfortable minivan at around 8:30 AM. First stop will be in Agrigento. This city used to be the richest of all the Greek colonies.

Admire the beautiful and impressive Valley of the Temples, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997. See some of the best preserved Greek temples in the world.

Pindar, the Greek poet and writer, described it as one of the most beautiful cities of those inhabited by mortals. The Valley of the Temples is famous for its well-preserved temples, seven in total.

The Temple of Concordia is one of the best preserved Greek temples in the world helping the site to gain the classic UNESCO world heritage award. At the site, visit the remains of many other temples dedicated to various divinity like Juno, Hercules, Hephaestus, and Athena.

Next see one of the most amazing beaches in Sicily. A few kilometers away from Agrigento, find the Scala dei Turchi, literally translated to Turkish steps. Discover a dazzling white rock formation, rising from the clear blue sea like giant steps. Walk this gentle slope, high above the sea on your feet, and enjoy a unique experience.

Here, have free time to enjoy one of the most famous beaches in Sicily, and eat a Sicilian snack, including small pizzas, bottles of water and red local wine. Arrive back in Catania in the early evening.

I can only recommend the Valley of the Temples. It is really worth seeing and impressive. The same applies to the Turkish Steps. A fantastic natural spectacle with a perfect bathing beach. (Don't forget your bathing suit) Although the tour fulfilled all the promised services, there was a bit of a feeling of mass processing. The food, right on the street, was very good and typically Sicilian. But we would have been happy about the possibility of going to the toilet to wash our hands.

A picnic and a snack with wine at the Turkish Steps, then 30 minutes on the beach - definitely too short. Access from the beach level not available to the rocks, a photo of attractions with bathers probably from 5 years ago :-( Valley of the Temples approx - 2 hours, paid separately 10 euro / person. Combining a beach trip with a historical one, an idea ridiculous in my opinion. 2 an hour-long walk among the ruins, in the heat, with no access to bars on the way, etc .. - an attraction only for history enthusiasts, for me it is a 1.5 km walk among the ruins.

Our guide was in a great mood, told us a lot of interesting things about the island and everything went well. The food was delicious. I would have liked to have had 30-60 minutes more time at the Steps of the Turks and in the Valley of the Temples, but it was completely sufficient to get a taste of it.
