Best part of our trip to Paris!

We were very pleasantly surprised when we realized we were the only people on the tour on the day that we booked it. Vincent picked us up from our doorstep and drove us out to the Loire valley in a nice BMW sedan. He was with us all day and was so friendly and fun to spend the day with. He even accommodated our request to stop for coffee in the morning. :) Our first stop was the Chateau de Amboise. We explored the castle, which was beautiful. The town of Amboise is like something from a movie. Our second stop was lunch, which was amazing. The restaurant was beautiful and upscale and the food was delicious classic French fair. It was different from what I expected based on the description (which says that the restaurant is in a cave - it wasn't, but was very nice nonetheless). Then we got to the wine tastings. We had two tastings - the first one at a little shop in Amboise and the second one at a larger winery. Everyone was very friendly and the wine at both wineries was amazing.

The chateau provides a self guide for you so the entry tickets were the way to go - less expensive than a tour and a tour is not required. you go at your own pace. We went early in the morning when it opened and there were no crowds

Amboise deserves to be visited! Beautiful old town and small but elegant castle
