What people are saying about Edam

Ideal for cycling to Marken.

We rented a bike for a day and drove from Volendam to Marken. Along the way we came across typical Dutch things. Next to Volendam is a beautiful mill and a cheese farm where you can visit the cows. In Monnickendam you have nice terraces for something to drink or eat. Then we went cycling at the top of a dyke to Marken. In total this was only 15 kilometers so great for us. On Marien we visited a clog maker and the lighthouse. We then sailed by boat from Marken to Volendam. In the store we received a discount for this boat trip.

Had a great time

Had a great time. Wanted to make more stops. Wish we would have planned all day rather than 4 hours. Visit at the cheese farm was very interesting. The only problem was that we bought tickets for bikes online but bikes were sold out when we arrived. However there was great customer service and the scooters were offered at a discount. I was hesitant but after a few minutes very used to them and was happy not to have to bike. We saw much more of the landscape this way.

Fantastic experience. If you want to explore the countryside of Amsterdam, this is the best way possible. Seeing Volendam, Marken and surroundings, this is amazing.

Very nice bike ride through beautiful villages. Interesting cheese farm and delicious lunch at Bob&Co. Good bikes!!
