Australian David our guide was awesome, and looked rather fetching in his above the knee kilt. He was knowledgeable, engaging and fun and I learnt a lot about Edinburgh’s vast gothic and dark history. All I would say is be prepared, the walk is not for the faint hearted, quite a few hills and even more steps, but well worth the post aches and pains!

There were only three guests on the tour which I thought would make things a bit awkward but it was really good! Ava was an excellent guide and story teller and knows many facts and interesting stories about Edinburgh in general as well as dark stories. You can tell she loves the city. If you're going in winter wrap up warm.

The tour was really fun and entertaining, and it was a great balance of history and humour. Our guide Angus was so friendly and enthusiastic. He remembered where everyone was from and made an effort to chat to us all between the stop off points. It was one of our favourite experiences from our trip!
