Full description
After meeting your guide in central Florence, listen to an insightful introduction about the Cinque Terre on the 2-hour bus journey to La Spezia. After a quick bathroom break, board the first train of the day. Arrive in Manarola, the first of the Cinque Terre villages you will visit. Here you will join a small guided walk through the vines, and then enjoy some free time to explore at your own pace. Next, take the train to Corniglia. Climb the steps to reach the center of this quaint village and take some time to wander around. If you have selected the add-on, sit down at a local restaurant with a beautiful terrace and sea views. Tuck into a lunch of fresh fish for your 'primo' and homemade pesto pasta for your ‘secondo’. Then, choose to either go on an adventurous guided hike from Corniglia to Vernazza, or if you prefer to take it easy, follow your guide and take a train instead. Once in Vernazza, sit at one of the local cafés, or take a refreshing dip in the sea. Next, board a train to Monterosso, the village renowned for its beautiful beaches and artisan shops. If the weather allows it, you will then board a boat to navigate along the coast of the Cinque Terre. Arrive in Riomaggiore, an ancient fishing village and the most southern of the 5 villages. After exploring this last village, board the train back to La Spezia and then take the coach back to Florence.

We had a great day with the cinque terre day trip! The guides who accompanied us had fun and interesting things to tell you, so you learned a lot about this amazing place. This activity includes train tickets and bus transport, which was very nice. Your guides will help you with this, so you don't have to search yourself. There is also more than enough free time in each town to do what you think is important (taking pictures, swimming). To top it all off there was a great boat tour along the coast, it was a great day!

Chris and Mano are great guides. They are very passionate about showing us the five fishing villages. Chris is very fun. Maro is so knowledgeable and helpful to give me advise where to find good trekking shoes for my daugher so she won’t miss the hiking part of the trip. I think it make sense to see the five villages in that order. We get a taste and impression of the five different villages. We will definitely come back for one of them. The logistic is so smooth. It is stress free for us. We are very happy about booking this trip.

Beautiful scenery...but bit off more than we expected

The online description did not adequately prepare us for the treacherous journey that awaited us. You should be prepared with wearing hiking/exercise clothes and hiking boots/sneakers. The trail is very rocky and uneven. Many large steps both up and down, with not much safety railing. Be sure to bring water and sunscreen. Given the tight timeline to get to each city, there wasn't very much time to explore the cities, shop or swim in the sea. If you want to do more of those things then you should visit cities individually and take train between each at your own leisure. The guides Levania and Alessandro were helpful, but it was difficult to keep up with them given the pace and large size of group.
