Planning Your Visit

  • How hard is it?

Florence's heart is fairly easy to cover by foot and most walking tours clock in at just an hour or two, unless they include tours of the Uffizi or other galleries and museums. If you're concerned about lasting the length of even a short tour, we'd advise you to check the itinerary doesn't include a climb up the Duomo's 463 steps, or uphill to the Piazzale Michelangelo.

  • How do the free tours work?

Free walking tours are perfect for those visiting on shoestring budgets or simply unsure how much to pay in advance. There is a catch, though! Remember the guides do this for a living so bring some cash and pay what you think it was worth at the end. Otherwise, brace yourself for a guilt-trip!

Our guide, Anna, was very kind, knowledgeable and passionate. The tour lasted even longer than expected but this was also because we asked her for some insights that she was very willing to give us. I recommend it and then knowing the history of the doctors was really interesting and useful to be able to visit Florence with a completely different awareness

Superb excursion despite overcast weather. Very well organized. The guides were very friendly Very pleasant to be at the seaside the little hike allowed us to admire the nature, orange trees, lemon trees, olive trees… and the superb landscapes. A superb break from the city for a day.

We were able to see so many things and learn so much on our tour. Rosa was an amazing guide and made sure that our 8 year old daughter was able to interact and take an interest in the tour as well!

Fue un buen tour, nuestro guía Guido muy simpático y nos explico bien cada detalle, la subida a la cúpula es agotadora pero vale la pena, Gracias!
