Begin the day touring the open-air Farmer's Market, where you can drink Fresh Coconut Water right out of the shell. Visit the Bahamian Brewery where you can Sip a Sands, Grand Bahama's very own Bahamian brewed beer. Explore the Port Lucaya Marketplace for shopping time where you can buy local souvenirs and uniquely Bahamian Arts & Crafts. After which, Snorkel/Swim with the Turtles in the Crystal Clear Turquoise Waters of the Bahamas! At this activity you can have your very own snorkel/swim guide known as the Turtle Whisperer. You will enjoy this activity for as long as you like or for as long as your swimming capabilities allow and your personal fitness level permits. After Snorkeling/Swimming with the Turtles, you can either go East to enjoy Banana Bay Restaurant and Bar on a beautiful pristine beach where in low tide the sand bar stretches for miles and miles. After enjoying this magnificent beach at Banana Bay, you can visit and walk the Garden of the Groves if you wish before returning to the ship/hotel. This is a 45acre Botanical Garden (admission not included). You can also go West and enjoy the beauty of another idyllic beach at Old Bahama Bay Resort and Marina. Teaser's is the tiki hut restaurant and bar located on the beach at this resort where the best frozen tropical island drinks are made that you can enjoy either in the pool, in the ocean or on their outdoor wooden deck. They do serve the local native dishes as well so you can either have a late lunch or just a lovely cool drink at this last stop before returning to the ship/hotel. When we go West we will tour the oldest settlement on Grand Bahama, West End, on our way to Old Bahama Bay Resort and Marina. Along the waterfront you can try fresh conch salad at Shaebo's, the most popular native dish or you can try another famous native dish, Conch Fritters at Rosie's. This daytrip takes in all the points of interest of the Freeport city centre before continuing on to the sights in Lucaya and the East End of Grand Bahama. The first stop is our open-air Farmer's Market where you can sip fresh coconut water right out of its shell, find interesting local made arts and crafts to take home with you and/or sample native food dishes of your choice such as conch salad and conch fritters. Then, the next stop is Port Lucaya Marketplace where you can pick up local art work, find unique Bahamian souvenirs and other tasty goodies such as local made chocolates flavored with native fruit. At this stop there are a number of restaurants and bars that feature native dishes if you are a foodie and enjoy sampling local typical dishes. Then, tour the public park Taino Beach, Smith's point - Home of the Famous Fish Fry, Sanctuary Bay - Home of the Unexso Dolphins, as well as Millionaire's Row, and Mather Town as you learn about everything Bahamian - the customs, history, culture, native food and drink, traditions and all there is to know about The Bahamas. Then you have the option to walk the Garden of the Groves (admission not included), before continuing on to the Lucayan National Park in the East End of Grand Bahama. At the Lucayan National Park, you will tour two caves; Ben's Cave and Burial Mound, before crossing the street to Gold Rock Beach. At Gold Rock Beach, you will have a Bahamian picnic lunch with homemade Bahamian bread and favorite native baked goodies. After lunch, you have ample time for swimming, walking the beach, shell collecting and/or sun-bathing, before continuing further east to High Rock, home of the famous Lighthouse Chapel. There you can enjoy an ice cold tropical drink at the famous Bishop's on the beach. At Bishop's enjoy walking the beach, collecting shells, swimming again at another beautiful idyllic beach or enjoy your first tropical cocktail of the day before departing back to the ship and/or hotel. The drive along the east coast takes in all the local settlements with views to their beautiful beaches right in front of the entrance to their homes. The East is all about magnificent beaches with powder white sand that stretch for miles and miles and miles. On this personalized day trip you will experience Bahamian culture and food while getting a thorough introduction to Grand Bahama. Travel in an air-conditioned vehicle with your private guide and visit all the major local attractions. You can Sip a Sands, Grand Bahama's locally brewed Bahamian beer! The Bahamian Brewery makes six different types of beers and two types of radlers. There you can pick up any Bahamian made rum for gifts for the loved ones back home or other souvenir items made for the brewery. You can drink Fresh Coconut Water right out of its shell at the open-air Farmer's Market! At the market you can also pick up other souvenir items to take home made by local vendors. Enjoy trying the varieties of the native fruit in season and learn all about the local spices in their cuisine. You will participate in a Bahamian cooking experience where you prepare and eat the most popular native dish - Conch Fritters! To accompany your Conch Fritters, you can try Switcha, the Bahamian fresh lemonade made with local limes. After your Bahamian Conch Fritter experience, you travel to Lucaya, where the next stop is Port Lucaya Marketplace. At the Port Lucaya Marketplace, there is a wide variety of shopping both for international famous name brands as well as local art work, handmade Bahamian arts and crafts and quite a number of restaurants and bars. Then, after this visit, the tour continues further east, where you can enjoy sitting on a wonderful large wooden deck, eat a scrumptious native meal overlooking a beautiful beach with a very expansive sand bar at low tide that goes for miles and miles and miles. You can also choose to walk the Garden of the Groves, a 45 acre botanical garden in Lucaya where you will see all the local specialty birds, native trees, shrubs and flowers as well as see the Muscovy ducks walking around, turtles and fish swimming in the ponds.
