Paris: Skip-the-Line Arc de Triomphe Rooftop Tickets

8. Paris: Skip-the-Line Arc de Triomphe Rooftop Tickets

The Arc de Triomphe is a Neoclassical take on the ancient Roman triumphal arch style. Fifty meters tall, the view from the platform atop the arch is well worth the hike. See the dozen Parisian avenues radiating out from the arch into the City of Light. Paris is one of the most fascinating places in the world and you will find yourself right at its center. Inspired by the great arches of ancient Rome, Napoleon commissioned the Arc de Triomphe shortly after his victory at Austerlitz. Unfortunately, he never lived to see its completion. At the base of the arch, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier pays tribute to the 1.3 million French soldiers who died in World War I. Behold the eternal flame that is rekindled at 6.30 PM each evening. In addition, there is a must-see exhibition which explains the symbolic importance of this monument. The view from the top of the arch is worth climbing the 284 stairs. From your privileged position, survey all of Paris. Unlike the obligatory Eiffel Tower trip, getting into the Arc de Triomphe is an effort not all tourists undertake. Plus, with skip-the-line tickets, you'll hardly have to break stride on your way in. From 18 September to 4 October, discover L'Arc de Triomphe, Wrapped project, a work that Christo wished to be continued after his death. L’Arc de Triomphe, Wrapped will use 25,000 square meters of recyclable polypropylene fabric in silvery blue and 3,000 meters of red rope. The Arc de Triomphe remains open to a limited number of people who will be able to access the rooftop, be at the heart of the work of art, walk on the fabric that will also cover the floor, and enjoy the panoramic view. Isabel was wonderful. She knew her history well and was very personable. We were a bit late but she wasn’t at all bothered by that. We walked along Champs Elysee as she gave us all kinds of history and fun facts. She was great with our girls too! There was a little hiccup with the Laudree but she made it work. Would gladly book again if we ever return to Paris.

This was pretty cool. We only road it through one loop but enjoyed the commentary and scenery. Maybe we should have booked this the first day though. Not the day before we were leaving as we’d already seen and visited most of the sites.

It’s a long bus ride but it is well worth the trip. Saint Michel’s is quite spectacular in person. I am so glad I went just bring some reading material on the bus round trip about 9 hours.

The tour was great and Nora our tour guide was amazing. I would definitely recommend this tour.

It was easy to access and it would very good choice to visit the Opera theatre.
