4. From Lausanne: Lavaux Panoramic Tour
You will be picked up at the Lausanne Tourist Office in a one of a kind Panoramic Bus with which you will embark on a Swiss sightseeing experience like no other.
Soon after your panoramic tour has departed, you will commence with a lakeside sightseeing experience visiting the centre and port of Lutry, which has retained its old heritage for many years. Its port offers a stunning view of the lake and the mountains. On a clear day, you can look all the way from the lake into the valley of the alps with mountains rising over 3000 meters.
After your scenic stop in Lutry, the panoramic tour will take you to Saint-Saphorin via the famous lakeside road. Onboard the bus, you'll see the region from a truly unique perspective with both the sun from the sky and the reflection from the lake together lighting up the Lavaux Vineyards.
Saint-Saphorin is a small town on the shore of Lake Geneva, which provides an incredibly scenic entry into the vineyards. While making your way through Saint-Saphorin, you will gradually start your ascent to the famous vineyards of Lavaux, which date back to the 11th Century. Next, make your way to the town of Chexbres, famous for its many little wineries, which have been maintained for numerous generations by the same families.
The next town on the tour will be the picturesque, Epesses, which overlooks Lake Geneva. Epesses is one of only 3 regions in Lavaux where Grand Cru wines are made. Famous for its restaurants and wineries with views of both Lakes Geneva and the Alps, Epesses provides the perfect photo opportunity for some photos.
After taking some beautiful pictures in Epesses of both the town and its incredible scenery, the tour will continue towards Lutry again. You already saw its picturesque city centre and its beautiful little port, but Lutry also has its own vineyards. Epesses and Lutry are connected by some of the most scenic roads, used by the local winemakers.
