Full description

Embark on a half-day snorkeling adventure on a glass-bottomed catamaran, with breakfast, lunch, and a professional crew included. Look out for all types of Pacific marine life, from dolphins to turtles and coral reefs, in 2 superb snorkeling spots — the Molokini Crater and Turtle Town.

Begin your snorkeling tour at Maalaea Harbor, where you'll board your boat for your excursion.

Join the crew aboard the Calypso, Maui's newest addition to the fleet, where you can even view the ocean from its glass bottom. The boat features an easy-to-use stairway in and out of the water, lots of shade, and plenty of Jimmy Buffet music, all to entertain you during your day in paradise.

Start the day off right with a breakfast of eggs, ham, cinnamon rolls, donuts, coffee, fruit, and juice.

Next, be dazzled by Molokini Crater, located off the south shore of Kihei and rising out of 300 ft (91 m) of water. Expect pristine conditions as Molokini is a protected marine preserve and bird sanctuary.

See how the extinct volcanic cone provides a home for native Hawaiian marine life such as manta rays, fish, urchins, and sharks, who all swim around the coral through the clear water year round. Use the provided snorkeling equipment to explore the underwater world.

Take advantage of the 2 water slides to make it more fun, especially for kids. And fret not — a lifeguard is in the water at all times watching over the snorkelers to ensure their safety.

After leaving Molokini, your second snorkeling spot of the day is Turtle Town, where you will swim with Hawaiian green sea turtles amid the calm water and coral.

Then, return to the boat for a relaxing barbecue lunch buffet. And, last but not least, enjoy a fun trivia game for the chance to win a crew T-shirt.

Some of the tour’s top amenities include 2 slides, a "leap of faith", 2 freshwater showers, use of quality snorkeling gear, flotation devices, and restrooms are provided on the boat. Hire everything you need on the day, with wetsuits, SNUBA, or underwater digital cameras available to rent.

What a fun experience! The crew of the Calypso worked hard to make us feel welcome and comfortable. I was very impressed that the first mate, Tony knew my name upon arrival. There was so much to do- snorkeling, sliding, jumping off the deck, viewing the beauty of Molokini from the boat and underwater. We decided to add on the Snuba experience and were totally thrilled! Annie and Sarah were patient and thorough in instruction and set up which made the experience one of the best on our entire trip! We highly recommend this!!

Group of 5 of us went on this trip and enjoyed it. This was the same excursion 2 have been on before and unfortunately, once again, did not stop at the turtle location. While I understand they cannot control the visibility in that area, you do pay more for the second location and there is no discount or return of money if you are not able to stop at one of the locations. And while you are told you get more time at the other stop, that’s not entirely true…they do quite a bit of extra circling and taking the long way to and from Molokini. That being said, the staff was really nice and helpful and the snorkeling at Molokini was outstanding! Probably one of the clearest we’ve ever seen! The breakfast is a muffin and fruit and the lunch is a turkey sandwich with chips and a cookie. There are plenty of juices and water available and extremely cheap drinks made VERY well (only $2 per drink). Would recommend this excursion but perhaps the cheaper trip just to Molokini.

We had such a great time! We were served breakfast and lunch. The boat ride was pleasant and didn’t feel rushed. We saw lots of fish out at Molokini and saw a handful of sea turtles in Turtle Town. The staff was awesome! They also had a photographer on board who tools tons of photos on the boat and in/under the water and the pictures turned out great. Of course you have to pay for pictures if you want them but it was worth it for us. Make sure to use Reef-safe sunscreen or just don’t put any on until you get there, they had hand pumps filled with sunscreen for us to use that was reef-safe. Awesome experience
