Augusta: Jewel Cave Fully-Guided Tour

1. Augusta: Jewel Cave Fully-Guided Tour

Jewel Cave is the largest show cave in Western Australia, composed of three massive chambers. Visitors are immediately in awe of the sheer enormity of the first chamber, which is also home to one of the longest straw stalactites found in any tourist cave in Australia. Towering crystal formations, growing for many thousands of years, reach up towards delicate and intricate decorations suspended like vines across the ceiling. Hear stories of the "Tasmanian tiger" fossils found in the cave — these animals perished in the darkness after falling into the cave thousands of years ago. After exiting the cave, you'll have the option to take a self-guided walk through the towering karri forest above, during which you'll pass by the natural entrance to the cave, a small vertical shaft in the forest floor.

Margaret River: Ngilgi Cave Semi-Guided Tour

2. Margaret River: Ngilgi Cave Semi-Guided Tour

Enjoy your visit to Ngilgi Cave with this tour led by an experienced informative guide. The semi-guided tour is approximately one-hour in duration, and begins with an introductory talk from the cave guide while being led down into the first chamber or "The Amphitheatre." Your guide will tell you all about Ngilgi's rich history - from the fascinating Aboriginal Dreamtime story describing the battle between a benevolent spirit named Ngilgi, and an evil spirit named Wolgine. The cave now takes its name from this rich Aboriginal legend. After the tour, explore the cave at your own pace, while another guide stationed in the centre of the cave can answer questions and provide more information on the many beautiful areas within the cave.

What people are saying about Margaret River

Excellent tour however, I did not appreciate being charged for both 9.30 and 11am tours. I took the 9.30 am tour so it would not be so busy and have chance to explain 2 tours were NOT intended. You have my credit card details so please credit back to my account. Experience tells me Third party bookings are not worth the effort. Judy Kanizay.
