Amsterdam: 2 City Walking Tours

6. Amsterdam: 2 City Walking Tours

Between its legalisation of marijuana, alliance with gay rights, and relaxed Red Light District, Amsterdam is considered one of the most progressive capital cities in the world. For this reason, it draws a diverse and liberal crowd that puts it at the forefront of art and design. Yet, as we walk between the maze of canals on our walking tours, we find the city steeped in history too. With the help of our Amsterdam guided city tours, you will gain an unparalleled insight into both the modern and historic Amsterdam. If you’re doing a whistlestop tour of the city and want to see all of its best bits in one go, or want to have a well-rounded introduction to the city before you explore on your own, then we recommend the Amsterdam Introduction Highlights guided tour. Starting with a dose of culture at the Rembrandt House Museum, we head towards Dam Square in Binnenstad, Amsterdam’s commercial centre. Here, we will discover some of the city’s most iconic landmarks, including the National Monument and the Royal Palace, before heading across the canals to the eerie Anne Frank’s House. Afterwards, we wander past the boutiques and cafes of Negen Straatjes, the city’s most stylish neighbourhood to find ourselves at the Amstel River, the city’s biggest waterway. Along the river, we introduce you to some of our favourite shops, theatres, markets, and bars in Amsterdam so that you know the coolest places to spend your time once the tour is complete. As well as our highlights tour, we have a number of alternative routes that knit together to show you the fabric of Amsterdam. On one of these routes, we follow Van Gogh’s Footsteps through the museum district. You can look forward to our commentary on the Moco Museum, Rijksmuseum, Stedelijk Museum, Museumplein park, and the much-loved Museum Market. Best of all, this tour introduces you to the Van Gogh Museum, which holds the world’s largest collection of works from the evocative Dutch Post-Impressionist painter. Amsterdam’s only downfall is that it’s home to so many amazing museums that there’s never enough time to visit them all. Our Van Gogh’s Footsteps guided tour will help you decide which museums you most want to visit. Our Amsterdam guided walking tours go far beyond introducing its most famous landmarks; they show you its trendiest shops, coolest cafes, and hippest hangout spots too. So whilst our guided tours will give you a fun yet informative insight into Amsterdam, above all they immerse you in the city’s creative, youthful, and liberal culture. Use the free Vox City app (included in your ticket) to discover more of Amsterdam and its insatiably cool atmosphere.

Amsterdam: Instagram Scenic Photo Spots & Moco Museum Tour

7. Amsterdam: Instagram Scenic Photo Spots & Moco Museum Tour

During this half-day tour, you will go around Amsterdam, visit and photograph the most scenic spots of this picturesque city, with a professional photographer. Begin with a visit to the trendy Moco Museum, home of Banksy, with its distinct art, photogenic staircases and weird backgrounds. Head towards the De Pijp neighborhood, famous for its numerous trendy local bars and cafes, inspiring wall art and well-known local market, Albert Cuyp, where a traditional herring eating picture will be taken (don’t worry, you don’t have to eat it if you don’t want to). See the canal houses and romantic bridges. Enjoy a quick visit to one of Amsterdam's beautiful parks and a wonderful tram ride through the Utrechtsestraat, a fashionable street full of design shops and boutiques. The ride ends in Rembrandt Square where you will be photographed standing in between the characters of the well-known Night Watch from the Golden Age painter, Rembrandt. Pose in front of the canal houses and romantic bridges like the love lock bridge and many others. You won't miss the opportunity to see the drunken houses, the Amstel river, the Southern and Western Churches. As your photographer is also your tour guide, get ready for some entertainment, as well as historical storytelling along the way. Last but not least, on the widest bridge of Amsterdam, with a breathtaking view of the canal houses on the background, you will be photographed on one of these typical bikes. Your tour will end at Restaurant Prins van Oranje, in front of the Anne Frank House, where you can check out your pictures easily, scanning your personal QR code while enjoying a nice coffee or tea.

We loved this pass. We were able to use the tram system for free with the card which was necessary. We were able to visit a plethora of museums and attractions with our pass. Would highly recommend if you are headed to Amsterdam!

Uncomplicated use of public transport. Free admission to many museums, including the 5D experience "This is Holland". The German language is missing in a number of museums and attractions. English is preferred.

I enjoy art, I liked the way the museum was set out and how there was art in the garden and basement you could interact with/ immersed in. Free auto guide was a lovely way to get to know more about the work.

I recommend the "I amsterdam city card". Very useful!

Excellent option to take advantage of museums and attractions
