This was a once-in-a-lifetime tour, Giuseppe was an amazing guide. Due to current restrictions, we couldn’t climb to the summit so didn’t need to take the 4x4 bus- we were refunded for this. In terms of equipment, we borrowed hiking poles (1 each) and were glad we did. It’s very windy at the top so a windbreaker or some jacket with a hood is definitely necessary. The views are incredible and Giuseppe was great at explaining everything as we went along. There were several tour groups starting at the same time but Giuseppe always made an effort to keep our group together and make the experience unique. A couple of people had to drop out after the first hour or so as it is quite a steep climb on uneven ground, at high altitude. We would definitely recommend this tour!

In view of the volcanic activity of Etna, we could not go to the central craters and therefore the 4×4 part was canceled! However, we were offered an alternative route that was quite sporty and long (allow 4 hours of walking: Lots of climbs on paths that were often narrow and filled with stones) but the view and the landscape were incredible! Very good memories and at the end of the journey, you will be able to say: "We did it!"

The tour guide Edo(ardo) was brilliant. I was really slow due to having just recovered from a fractured pelvis recently and a lung infection, so was left behind. Edo suggested as it was a very windy day, it was probably a bit much for me to handle, so he showed us an easier descent for me to go down by.
