On the red bus I really appreciated that the attendant made sure everyone was wearing their masks, not so on the blue bus. The tape for the red bus was a little confusing as it didn’t match up with some of the stops due to traffic. It was a really nice overview of the old town though. The ride on the blue bus was really good. The stops were further apart so it was easier to follow the guide. A great idea of the scope and past of the city

  • Naples: Walking Tour with Underground Ruins

    3. Naples: Walking Tour with Underground Ruins

Visit the oldest part of the city and wander its narrow streets, filled with character and vivacity. See the church of Gesù Nuovo and its masterpieces, the monastery of Santa Chiara and walk through the most famous "Spaccanapoli" with its outstanding Baroque and Renaissance palaces, countless charming little shops, coffee bars and pizzeria. Explore the underground Roman ruins, buried beneath the city. See the monumental part of the city with its most famous landmark — Castel Nuovo, a 13th-century castle, the Royal Palace, the Teatro di San Carlo and the Galleria Umberto, an elegant 19th-century shopping mall.

This five-hour walking tour covered the key sites in Naples. The tour guide was informative and interesting. I felt bad for her having to give the tour in both English and Italian, especially because it was so long. She tried hard to please everyone on the tour. She did a great job. I booked the VIP tour for 8 people or less in English. As not enough people signed up for that tour, World Tours moved me to the dual language group tour of 14 and refunded the difference in price. I booked the tour the night before and they notified me at 7:30 am about that change to my 8:30 am tour. The tour took longer because the guide had to translate everything. One person even left the tour for that reason. While I am glad I did the tour, next time I will book a private or small group with another company that does not have any minimum tour size and conducts the tour only in one language to ensure that I get the tour I booked.
