Saint Petersburg: Illuminations by Night City Tour

10. Saint Petersburg: Illuminations by Night City Tour

Illuminations tour along the spectacular floodlit monuments. Magical and magnificent by night, a drive through Saint Petersburg and its beautiful illuminated buildings should not be missed by any visitor of the northern capital. This excursion combines a sightseeing drive to those landmarks of the city which are getting most fascinating when the night is getting on - the most gorgeous palaces and squares of Saint Petersburg at night. In summertime you will have the opportunity to enjoy the romantics of the White Nights, observing the opening of the numerous drawbridges. During White Nights, when a faint twilight takes the place of night darkness, the streets, squares and embankments acquire a unique charm. Though the period of White Nights is short and comes to the end in July, it doesn't mean that the charm of St. Petersburg's night disappears. The city dominated by water still offers its guests many possibilities of feeling its beauty.

We booked this tour with an english speaking guide to make sure we understood what we were seeing. Well worth it. You could try doing it independently but you would miss so much information. Our guide Olga arrived and was excellent from the very outset. Her knowledge and passion for the tour was exceptional. Peter and Paul fortress excellent, followed by church of the spilled blood and onto St Isaac cathedral. Although we were the only two on the tour we found Olga made us feel like a member of her own family when it came to stop for a traditional russian lunch. When it came to the highlight of the tour which was the Hermitage museum this is where the expert guide Olga made the tour worth every penny. Her knowledge as we said earlier was brilliant. Booking through Get your guide was the first time we have booked experiences online but will definitely be using this website in the future. Rob and Vanessa Newell

We enjoyed our stay in St Petersburg, the Hop On Hop Off was our greatest highlight. We were happy to meet a very friendly and helpful guide, Tatyana in Red Line bus. She really made our sight seeing your very memorable. We will definitely encourage people to use the bus just to get the feel of what is happening around St Petersburg.

Lida was our tour guide and she was AWESOME! She speaks good english and keeps u engaged for 3 hours. She is from St.Petersburg and is very knowledgeable about the city. She has answers to all your questions. Booking was simple on GYG and communication was good prior to the meeting time via whatsapp. I highly recommend this tour.

We hit the "hellish" weather in St. Petersburg. Thanks to the trip by bus and then by boat, we got to know a large part of the important monuments in the city without much effort. It took us about 6 hours in total. I recommend

The walk in chilled weather was amazing one to do. They do as they write “nothing stops this tour”. The guide Lidia was wonderful and made the tour perfect.
