The entire plantation is not a guided tour like I thought. it's a quick 30 minute tour of the big house and the rest you look at on your own. a little disappointed that we couldn't take pictures inside, but the tour was good and saw some original pieces to the house. jackie was great. the airboat was insanely fun! if you get a good one, be prepared to get wet as we did a lot of full speed drifting, 360s, and jumping corners and bogs.
I thought this tour was the best part of going to New Orleans. I wish there was a little bit more of a guided tour explaining about the slavery side at the plantation. The house tour was informative but I would have like to learn more about the grounds without having to read it on our own. It was still a surreal experience. The air boat ride was awesome! Worth every penny!
Our bus driver was very kind and knowledgeable! The swamp tour was amazing! We weren’t expecting to see any alligators due to the weather however we saw 4! The plantation was also fantastic! Amazing people! Be sure to bring cash for tipping the bus driver and boat captain! Will definitely be back to Cajun Pride!
Pretty good tour. If we hadn't needed to eat lunch, I think the amount of time at Oak Valley would have been fine, but we didn't get to see everything. I recommend some motion sickness meds if you're sensitive to waves/water - the boat tour was pretty wild!
It was a bit cold that day but the guided house tour was very interesting and fun. I would recommend this tour only on a warmer day. There were a few displays we didn’t go to because of the cold.
