Full description

Experience 2 typical Louisiana features—plantation homes and bayous—on a guided day trip from New Orleans with hotel pickup. Tour Oak Alley Plantation, with entry tickets, included, and look out for wildlife on a boat trip through the swamplands.

Start with a pickup from your French Quarter hotel. Head out of New Orleans and travel to Oak Alley Plantation, one of the best-known in the area. Built in 1837-39, the plantation is famous for its alley of 28 evenly spaced live oak trees.

Take a guided tour of the historical plantation and gain an educational insight into the times of slavery.

Afterward, enjoy a fully narrated boat tour of the swamps. Keep a lookout for alligators, turtles, water birds, and other local wildlife. Listen as your captain tells stories of local Cajun and Creole history, and the people who live in the Bayou area.

Finish your tour with the return journey to New Orleans, where you’ll be dropped off at your French Quarter hotel.

That tour was just unbelievable. They picked us up at our hotel even when it was not listed on their hotel pick up list. Don't hesitate to call them if your hotel is not listed. The swamp guide was funny and gave us a lot of info. These alligators are no joke. Some are huge. The oak valley plantation is a must see. The house tour was ok but the fact that you can walk around the property is just priceless. I highly recommend that tour!

The swamp tour was well organized with lots of information given about the bayou and area, and was very entertaining and fun. The plantation tour was interesting although the exhibit area was smaller than we expected. Our drivers were excellent and went above and beyond- we were given a lot of information about the area to and from the tour locations.

This trip was amazing! “Big Joe” was an amazing driver and personality to be around. He is kind and very caring and fun. The swamp tour was laid back and relaxing, the plantation tour was a lot of history and just beautiful to walk around. Though it took a significant part of the day to do both things I would highly recommend it and would do it again it was such a good time! I like they had bars and food at the plantation and no issues with ticketing and stuff bc Big Joe takes care of everything for you.
