Full description

Experience 2 typical Louisiana features — plantation homes and bayous — on a guided day trip from New Orleans, with hotel pickup included. Tour Oak Alley Plantation, with entry tickets included, and look out for wildlife on a boat trip through the swamplands.

Start your experience with a pickup from selected French Quarter hotels. Head out of New Orleans and travel to Oak Alley Plantation, one of the best-known in the area. Built in 1837-39, the plantation is famous for its alley of 28 evenly spaced live oak trees.

Take a guided tour of the historical plantation and gain an educational insight into the times of slavery.

Afterwards, enjoy a fully narrated boat tour of the swamps. Keep a look out for alligators, turtles, water birds, and other local wildlife. Listen as your captain tells stories of local Cajun and Creole history, and the people who live in the bayou area.

Finish your tour with the return journey to New Orleans, where you’ll be dropped off at your French Quarter hotel.

We had so much fun. Our driver big Joe was excellent, loved his stories, history about the area’s we drove through. He gave us great tips on places to visit and places to eat. Captain Tom was our guide in the bayou swamps. I loved listening to his awesome Louisiana accent. He taught us a lot about alligators and birds and animals at the Bayou. We got a kick out of watching him feed the alligators. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is looking for something fun to do while staying in New Orleans

Captain Bishop was extremely knowledgeable on his background of gator and he was really funny definitely would recommend to book with him. The plantation was a wealth of knowledge we didn’t know we needed they explained to us in great details what the plantation owners and slave went through back in those days.

Wonderful day! The swamp tour was really fun and we saw many alligators! I was surprised that they fed the alligators marshmallows but they loved it. We also were given the opportunity to hold a baby alligator, what an experience. Oak Alley Plantation was absolutely beautiful and there is a guided tour of the house that is included with the package. We were also able to see where the slaves lived and how they were treated. It was sad to see this but it is a part of history that we cannot ignore. There is a cafe at the plantation so you can buy food there. We opted to bring our own lunch as we had leftovers ( muffuletta)
