COVID-19 Update

Due to health and safety regulations, this itinerary may change. See Know before you go for the latest updates.

Visit the site of the World Trade Center on a poignant walking tour of the monuments and memorials to those who perished and survived the terrible events of September 11, 2001. Start at St. Paul's Chapel, and learn about the important role it played in the aftermath of the attacks. Go to 9/11 Memorial Plaza and pause for reflection at the memorial pools. Get detailed descriptions from your guide about each monument, from the design of the pools to the architecture of the new World Trade Center and its symbolic use of materials, light and reflection.   Pay your respects at the Fireman's Memorial and American Express 11 Tears Memorial, often missed by those who visit on their own. Get an up-close look at the reconstruction of the site as you visit Brookfield Place and see The Oculus, the 4-billion dollar centerpiece of the new World Trade Center transportation hub. Following the walking tour of the area you'll enter the 9/11 Museum where you'll learn more about the terrible events independently on a self guided visit (Museum option must be chosen at time of booking. You will receive your tickets for the 9/11 Museum from your guide when you arrive for the start of the walking tour.) See more than 23,000 images and 10,300 artifacts that tell the story, and hear some of the 2,000 oral histories of those killed, mostly provided by friends and families.

Emotional tour

So, the only reason for the 4 stars is that I took this tour one other time and in that tour we learned a lot more facts about the construction of the memorial. This tour was more emotion driven. The other tour had both which I preferred. I will say that I did learn some new facts as Debbie took us on a different walking path.

Enthralling from start to finush

Debbie is a wonderful guide. Sensitive, funny and so full of knowledge about 9/11,before during and after. She showed yes things, places and info we'd never know, heard of or found if left to our own devices. Would I recommend her walking tour? This is a not to be missed tour. Your be shocked how quickly the 2 hours passes and be so glad you gave Debbie your time. She's a wonderful person, great energy and an amazing guide. As a local she can tell you exactly how it went down and some. Not to be missed. X

A sobering but up-lifting experience. So much hatred from the terrorists, but so much goodness & love from ordinary citizens; the dedication beyond the call of duty from the firefighters & the police. The marvel of St Paul’s Chapel, that tiny church surviving amidst all that horror. The exhibition gives thought & conveys the shock of that terrible day in 2001 without overwhelming the visitor. Such a beautiful, sunny autumn day & yet man used it & filled it with evil &hatred. The museum’s display takes me right back to the disbelief I felt here in England on hearing the news.
