Orlando: Ghosts and Dark History Haunted Walking Tour

Orlando was quickly settled, and was built along ley lines, thought to increase connection to the supernatural. Then, Walt Disney came along, and the city became famous for being home to "The Happiest Place on Earth". What Disney didn't know was that the city was also home to secret societies and murders in the tunnels underneath the streets of downtown. On this tour, you'll discover the creepy tales of a city steeped in tragedy, mystery, suicide, and murder. You rarely hear of the city’s ties to secret societies, of the murders that took place in tunnels beneath the streets of downtown, or rumors of the connections the city’s residents have to the UFO sightings that make Florida the state with the second-most alien encounter reports in the country. Rumrunners, vaudeville performers, and the ghost of Ted Bundy – Orlando’s magic doesn’t just come from the happiest place on earth. Uncover the darkness that lies under the bright Florida sun.

Orlando: Wild Florida Airboats & Gator Park Experience

5. Orlando: Wild Florida Airboats & Gator Park Experience

When you want to see the wild side of Florida, we know the perfect place to give you a real thrill with the local wildlife – and much more besides! Wild Florida is a wonderful airboat ride and nature attraction carefully woven into the pristine countryside deep in Osceola County. Based on 3,000-acre Cypress Lake, it is the only sign of development for miles around and therefore offers a true taste of the real Florida we love to show our visitors. With almost 300 acres of its own, Wild Florida is the largest family-owned wildlife and adventure park in Central Florida, and its attractions include a raised boardwalk through a typical swamp, an extensive alligator park, exotic animal exhibits, and several shows. Then there is the signature new Drive-Thru Safari Park experience, a rare opportunity to get up close and personal with a variety of animals, both native and imported, including a chance to hand-feed the park’s giraffes. And we bring all this natural magnificence into play for our guests on this tour. After the gentle 35-mile drive in our comfy, air-conditioned vehicle, which takes around 50 minutes, we arrive in what they like to call “the Middle of Nowhere,” and then the fun really starts. We begin the early-morning adventure with the signature 30-minute airboat ride on Cypress Lake, where you are likely to see gators, eagles and other native wildlife on this thrilling flat-bottomed boat that is powered by a giant propellor and feels like flying at ground level! Then there is time to explore the 14-acre Gator Park and meet a compelling range of animals, from the endangered Florida panther to the adorable lemurs and lovable sloths. This is followed by an inclusive BBQ basket lunch at Wild Florida’s rustic Chomp House diner, with benches set under a lovely covered pavilion affording glorious lake views. Next, we whisk our group off for the undoubted highlight of the Drive-Thru Safari, where more than 100 native and exotic animals roam free and provide a real feeling of being on the African savanna. Finally, we disembark our vehicle for the close-up moment with the giraffes, where everyone gets the opportunity to pass out some tasty snacks to these ever-hungry loafers. As well as lunch, round-trip transport and the services of our certified guide, this tour also includes a bag of gator feed per person in the Gator Park, and one digital photo per group. Just as importantly, unlike other tour operators, there will be NO up-selling of any additional amenity. Everything is included for your full enjoyment without having to put your hand in your pocket for anything else, with our bus returning to Orlando in mid-afternoon. The only thing you have to bring is your camera – and your sense of Florida adventure!

It was an all-round successful and great day. We saw many wonderful animals and even spotted several alligators just ahead of us. In the end we were very lucky and the manatees were right in front of us. even for our 3 year old daughter it was an exciting experience with Astrid. She explained everything so well during the tour and told everything in both English & German. Astrid even conjured up a small lunch for us. Highly recommend this excursion!

The experience was basically a bus ride to the Kennedy space center with some great commentary about the KSC and the NASA program. The cost wasn’t worth it, though. You can get KSC tickets for $57 and an Uber ride for $100. If it’s a group of 4-6 it’s better to take the Uber.

7/5/22 Our guid found out she couldn't not go in with us that morning ..sounded like NASA changed rule. Angleina the guid ,she gave each one of us the best way to around the place and it worked out good. We had good time. Thank you
