The Hague: Panorama Mesdag Museum Entry Ticket

1. The Hague: Panorama Mesdag Museum Entry Ticket

Discover the magical illusion of the panorama of Hendrik Willem Mesdag in The Hague, the largest circular canvas in Europe.  Look 360º around you and experience the optical illusion created by this panorama of Scheveningen from 1881. Experience a view that is never the same: the incidence of light is more than magnificent and changes from moment to moment.  The vista of the sea, dunes, and old fishermen’s village Scheveningen was painted by H.W. Mesdag. Panorama Mesdag is a unique cultural-historical monument. Discover Scheveningen as it was in 1881. An artistic view of the picturesque fishing village from the 19th century, the emerging cosmopolitan beach life, and the encroaching city of The Hague is presented in a feast for the senses.

As a little girl I visited the Mesdag a couple of times, yesterday again after almost 70 years. I'm fascinated by the beach scenes and the light by the sea, the smooth transitions from dune sand into the masterpiece. Very special, again and again. The exhibition with Mesdag's "Seascapes" - the moving sea. You can still discover the lighting moods today.

Am now 67, have been coming to Panorama Mesdag since I was 10 years old. Every time it is great to take friends, family or acquaintances there and very nice to see how those people there look very surprised at this beautiful 140 year old image of the surroundings of Scheveningen and The Hague.

didn't know what to expect, was completely overwhelmed by all this beauty and so cleverly done. Really enjoyed it and recommend to everyone to see this at least once. we will definitely come back a few more times with different weather conditions. we now had a beautiful sunny day.

it's nice, gives you a good impression how panorama museums worked, but a bit expensive as we were through in 30 min

I've had a wunderfull experience! It all looked so real, and beautyfull painted.
