  Don't bother buying any kind of ticket for pompeii other than the official italian ONLINE ticket. there is no 'fast track' 'skip the queue' tickets. the only people who can skip the queue are the ones with the actual online Tickets. Not the getyourguide or any other kind of voucher tickets. also stay away from the Ticket office at the trainstation. even tho there are signs that it deals with getyourguide tickets, it is not the official Pompeii ticket office and they just waste your time there.

  Well organized tour and well priced. My only recommendation is to allow more time for Mt. Vesuvius. Having only one hour to climb and descend was not enough time for us to fully aprreciate it.

  It was a good experience, we really liked it. The only complain I have is that they don’t let you go to a nearby hotel for the pick up, and the directions of the other location are far from downtown.

  9. Pompeii: Reserved Entrance and Return Bus Ticket from Rome

  This is a unique package where you can select your own personal time to go fast and direct to Pompeii and enjoy this fantastic experience at your own pace. After being greeted by a representative in Rome, you will travel south in comfort by bus Pompeii. After arriving you will be greeted and directed to the entrance point in front of the Archaeological area. Here you will be fully assisted by the staff to collect your audio guide, water, map and ticket. From here you will be able to walk among the cobblestone streets where Pompeian villagers and aristocrats alike once went about their daily activities. You can explore their homes, including recently opened residences of the ancient elite, and marvel at the brightly painted frescoes and marvelous mosaics. Following a day exploring Pompeii at your own leisure, you can return by bus to Rome with plenty of time to enjoy your evening.

  The representative met us at the bus terminal as expected and explained everything. There was a bit of a wait once we reached Pompeii before the secondary bus picked us up. The transition after that was very smooth. We had 3 hours to go thru the ruins, I wish there would have been more time at this point. Otherwise it went smoothly.

  This was a good tour with a friendly tour guide. There were lots of ruins and plenty of time to look around and take pictures. We did not get as much back story on the history of Pompeii as I would have expected, but had lots of information about each room and ruin we walked through. We were an add-on for the Pompeii portion of a larger group that had come down from Rome, so we only participated in the Pompeii aspect of the tour.
