Full description
Experience a castle tour in the Middle Rhine Valley, where fine wines from ruby red Pinot Noir to shimmering golden Riesling are grown. Discover one of Europe’s oldest trade routes along former toll castles and robber barons' nests, where Victor Hugo, Goethe, and Heinrich Heine are onboard in spirit. Explore beloved places of the Middle Rhine Valley that inspired the poets who created Rhine Romanticism. This section of the Rhine, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2002, is home to more castles than anywhere else. Admire Rheinstein Castle, Reichenstein Castle (Trechtingshausen), the ruins of Ehrenfels Castle, and the fabled Mouse Tower of Binger Loch. See the Nahe river flow into the Rhine and marvel at Klopp Castle before continuing on to the Niederwald Monument with the Germania and the Niederwald Temple in Osteinpark. Let the myth of the Rhine Romanticism enchant you. Admire the red wine region of Assmannhausen with its famous Pinot Noir vineyards as well as the flourishing town of Bingen with the beautiful Rhine park of the 2008 horticultural show and Rüdesheim with the famous Drosselgasse.

Easy to book and pay online. Awesome trip up the Rhine to view lots of castles and the beautiful architecture of the houses. One and a half hours is perfect timing, can have a drink while enjoying the view. We caught the boat at Rudesheim, which is such a lovely town with so much to do for the day.

All in all, it was a nice trip, but the fact that you dock in several places was not made clear. Would have liked to have known what the options were with my ticket in terms of jumping off the boat to take it back later. Took the last departure and realized it when I was on the boat, so I think it was a shame .. Would have liked to have seen one castle closer. Otherwise, it was a good experience.

With the Rhein Star quite relaxed a bit up and down the Middle Rhine Valley. You can do that with the Rössler Line both from Bingen and from other places on the Rhine such as Rüdesheim, Rheinstein and Rheinfels. A bit like a relaxed Hopon-Hopoff bus on the water. We recommend.
