Fantastic experience! I was keen to ride an Icelandic horse on our visit and this was the ideal opportunity! When we arrived, we watched a detailed video with tips and tricks for riding Icelandic horses. The information was a good refresher as I haven't ridden for years, and my husband was riding for the first time. The staff did an excellent job of understanding our experience levels and matching us with an appropriate horse. The scenery on the ride was beautiful and part way through we had the opportunity to decide if we wanted to continue at a walking pace or go faster as the group split into two. We returned to the stables after a photo stop and warmed up with a well-deserved hot chocolate. It was an amazing experience and my husband, who was initially nervous about riding for the first time, hasn't stopped talking about it since!

All of the horse handlers were so helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. They really were acutely aware if anyone had any concerns or restrictions for finding the best horse fit for each person. Had a great intro video on the “how to” for Icelandic horse riding. After the ride they had hot chocolate and coffee available to relax and warm up from the outdoors. Such a wonderful unique experience, highly recommend!

I booked our horseback riding experience a day too early and I was able to change it at midnight 2 nights prior ( thank you Carl!) and it was effortless. 2 days later my partner and our 2 kids were equipped with rain gear (thank god because it was pouring). The staff like everyone in Iceland was kind, sweet and extremely attentive. The horses were up for a ride in the cold rain and I wasn’t sure we really were! The ride was relaxing and beautiful- even in the rain. At the end you are offered a hot drink and kind smile. All the staff was incredibly kind. I highly recommend this experience. Ask for February’ the horse! A beautiful animal.
