Full description
Iceland's Geldingadalur Valley now had multiple craters erupting for the first time in 7000 years, the Fagradalsfjall Volcano crater being the most active. Start with a pickup in Reykjavík before heading on a scenic drive surrounded by breathtaking views. The first stop is Lake Kleifarvatn, where you will enjoy scenes of the black beach and surrounding mountains. Next, get your hiking gear on and hike towards Geldingadalur Valley to see live volcanic activity coming from Fagradalsfjall Volcano. You will be able to enjoy your packed lunch on the hike while seeing lava flowing from the volcano. After, drive by the Reykjanes Peninsula, where the volcanos of the past have created land formations now covered by soft green lava moss. You'll then get to see and feel the Gunnuhver Hot Springs, where boiling waters and steam will reignite your senses. Only a 5-minute drive from there, you'll stop by the photogenic Reykjanes Lighthouse and the Valhnúkamöl Boulder Ridge to admire the cliffs and sea stacks formed by the Atlantic Ocean. The last stop before heading back to Reykjavík is the Bridge Between Continents where earthquakes have made a rift between the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates. It's a fun photo opportunity and a chance to walk between the continents.

This is the first time I’ve ever written a review, but I felt like I had to because this tour was so great! We stopped at a few places before the hike to see some stunning coastline and geothermal activity. We then got to the volcano where we saw the incredible lava field with gases still coming off of it. Our guide Simon was absolutely incredible at explaining everything, and very knowledgeable. It added a lot to the experience to know what we were looking at. He was also incredibly funny. We then embarked on the most epic tour of my life up the side of the mountain/ volcano. The hike was challenging and steep, but ultimately incredible. The views were out of this world the higher you got. We ended up on the crest of the mountain overlooking the entire volcano and lava field and all the other incredible landscape surrounding it. We then followed this path along the crest down to our starting point. The hike was a few hours, and incredible beginning to end. Could not recommend more!

Our tour guide Josef was brilliant, knowledgable and friendly. Tour was well organised - easy meet up and arrived back without any delays. Also made a stop to have fish and chips for lunch - best we ever had and we are from the U.K. All the sights were breathtakingly beautiful, Bustravel is a great choice, we also booked the Southern Iceland Glaciers, Waterfalls and Beaches Day Tour with them which we enjoyed. 10/10

the volcano tour was very nice, although we didn't get to see any running lava, was a nice hike and had a few nice stops on the way to the hike, although I didn't know we was getting dropped off at the blue lagoon, maybe I would have gone if I knew, but we had alot of nice stops like the bridge between the two plates, while we waited for the people in blue lagoon to be picked up so was happy with that.
