Explore St. Peter's Basilica, the Renaissance-style church with its dome that dominates the skyline of Rome. Discover why the American philosopher Ralph Waldo Emerson described it as "an ornament of the earth...the sublime of the beautiful".

Marvel at the interior, lavishly decorated with marble, reliefs, architectural sculpture, and gilding. Discover the underground Chapel of the Confession and marvel at its curving marble staircases.

After the tour, you can use the online Rome City Guide, a self-guided audio tour with stories from local experts, which is included in the experience. Learn about the city's points of interest, hidden gems, public transport, Wi-Fi access points, and best photo stops.

Our guide was knowledgeable and spoke exactly enough about the Basilica, its interior and the exterior square contained and the meaning behind the coloumns and chosen statues. She provided us with interesting historical facts about various objects and tombs inside the basilica, leaving us feeling informed about the basilica as a whole. Great value for money, but beware that this does not include skip-the-line entrance to St. peter’s itself and you will have to wait in line for security like everyone else. Plan accordingly.

We were late for our time slot coz it took us forever to get through security. But they still accommodated us and we were able to go to the next time slot. The guide’s voice was very clear through the radio and we were able to hear everything. She was very knowledgeable in all the things around the Basilica. What a lovely experience!

Great tour of the cathedral. Not too long at one hour and yet extremely informative. We had a very pleasant tour guide. Then we were still on the dome. An absolute must, even if the ascent was quite difficult despite the lift with over 300 steps. Would book this tour again and again.
