This five-hour walking tour covered the key sites in Naples. The tour guide was informative and interesting. I felt bad for her having to give the tour in both English and Italian, especially because it was so long. She tried hard to please everyone on the tour. She did a great job. I booked the VIP tour for 8 people or less in English. As not enough people signed up for that tour, World Tours moved me to the dual language group tour of 14 and refunded the difference in price. I booked the tour the night before and they notified me at 7:30 am about that change to my 8:30 am tour. The tour took longer because the guide had to translate everything. One person even left the tour for that reason. While I am glad I did the tour, next time I will book a private or small group with another company that does not have any minimum tour size and conducts the tour only in one language to ensure that I get the tour I booked.
Mira was our guide and she was wonderful. She provided many insights and added a personal touch. This is a very strenuous walking tour and we covered a lot of ground. Didn't have time to stay in one place too long. Very nice stop at the San Carlo Theatre coffee shop for a snack. The underground was interesting and one hour there was enough for me. This tour provided a glimpse of many areas of Napoli that I would like to visit more later.
The two routes in Naples were very interesting and one got a good overview of the city. The only problem was to find the initial bus stop. The fact that there was construction on the piazza municipo did not help. But we should have received more specific instructions to find the main bus stop. This has been a problem with all our hop-on hop-off bookings this holiday in Palermo and Napoli. An area to improve.
If you’ve only got 24 hours (or less), THIS IS THE BEST THING TO DO! Especially if you’re travelling to Amalfi or Sorrento, but you still want to see Naples, you can leave your luggage at the Luggage Left at the airport and then you can book a later bus for your final destination (if you arrive early in the morning). Two thumbs up from me!
The guides were authentic and informed. We loved the Hotel Vesuvius in Sorrento which we spent more time there. The boat excursion to Capri and Anacapri was idyllically scenic. We had no complaints everything was perfect except the chance we missed to enter the Blue Grotto due to semi rough seas.
