Full description

Embark on a half-day trip to Hallstatt from Salzburg. Take a scenic drive past Lake Fuschl with insightful commentary from your guide on board. Enjoy free time in Hallstatt to explore at your own pace.

Depart from Salzburg and traverse Austria's lake district in an air-conditioned bus. Pass Lake Fuschl and stop for photos of St. Gilgen, Lake Wolfgang, and the surrounding mountains of the Salzkammergut. Afterward, continue your trip along Lake Wolfgang and soak up the views of this UNESCO World Heritage landscape. Enjoy insightful commentary about the region from your onboard guide.

Pass through a number of charming villages on your drive to Hallstatt. Once you arrive in Hallstatt, have 2.5 hours of free time to explore this fairytale city and its surroundings. You can visit the ossuary or “bone-house”, and see the 1000 painted human skulls inside. Opt for a funicular ride to the entrance of the world’s oldest salt mine and enjoy the breathtaking views from an observation platform.

Walk along the lake and marvel at how the houses above you seem to cling to the mountainside. After your free time, board the bus for your return journey.

This time, pass through the Rußbach valley and the towns of Gosau and Abtenau which are famous for their stunning views of the Dachstein mountain range.

It was very good ! The city is beautiful! I have never seen so much natural beauty!! It was really amazing! In terms of management, it was a bit bad! On the application it gives you a place far from 15min on foot when it is not at all the meeting point. The real meeting point is in front of this address: Rainerstraße 2, 5020 Salzburg, Austria This is the PANORAMIC company that manages this. A little advice that I wanted to confirm (I read it in the comments and I followed it) put yourself on the left side of the bus (on your right when you get on..) have fun

The trip was great! We had 30 min delay, though is was forgotten by what came after - The town was beautiful! but the way there and back was the best for me. They thought about everything to make it as full as possible, with 2 different beautiful ways to the town and back. The views were incredible, the bus rides were an attraction one his own. The guide was a wonderful, calming elderly German men, that gave nice facts and stories along the way. A mandatory tour if you near by!

The highlight was Hallstätt and this was an incredible place to be. The only downside is the limited amount of time (2.5 hours) which is not enough if you want to do all the activities and visit all the nice viewpoints. The rest of the tour was average with nice scenery during the drive and a good stop at Wolfgang lake however not much else going on. All in all, it was a good tour!
