Full description

Start in the morning with a tour of Pisa. Have time to admire the cathedral, the baptistery, the monumental cemetery, and the famous Leaning Tower. Then move on to a typical winery in the Chianti Hills on the slopes of San Gimignano. Enjoy a Tuscan lunch accompanied by a local wine tasting. Following lunch discover one of the most beautiful medieval villages of San Gimignano, or the "Medieval Manhattan, where you can explore the maze of cobbled streets, small squares, and many local craft stores.

Continue on with a panoramic view of the Chianti countryside before arriving in Siena, where if desired, your professional guide will take you to see the most important squares, from Piazza del Campo to the cathedral, passing through the most beautiful contrade that characterizes this city. At the end of the guided tour, choose to have some free time to enjoy a cup of coffee or a panforte (a typical local cake), and to go shopping. This tour does its purpose getting you to the destinations but… I was really disappointed in the lack of history shared. My tour guide just dropped us off and said meet us here at this time. Absolutely no guidance. It was also discouraging to see her lack of attention to older guests or disabled guests. She did not wait for anyone or make any accommodations for those who might have needed it. Also be prepared to walk 9 miles and walk fast. Bring water, snacks, and maybe a fan! The destinations are all beautiful I just wish there was more guidance and history shared.

The plan is nice, without offending I don't understand why they take children to a wine tasting, that is, someone under 5 years of age is not a plan for them nor is the typical light lunch of San Gimignano and Chianti suitable for a child. It's a nice plan; the very friendly guide although you always find people who pretend to be late and that the whole group waits for you to arrive. In my case, some quite rude Asians and without any shame at the time of appearing 15 minutes late at the meeting time at the site informed by the guide.

The places visited were good, the host Sereena was knowledgeable and the air conditioning on the bus was a welcomed feature due to the extreme temperature outside. The visit to the winery was slightly interesting but only very small samples of food was available so it is wise to buy or take own food also. At the Florence, Pisa and Siena stops, there is a long walk to and from the bus.
