Krakow: Bike Tour of the Old Town, Kazimierz, and the Ghetto

1. Krakow: Bike Tour of the Old Town, Kazimierz, and the Ghetto

The joys of this tour lie not only in what you will discover but also in the simple pleasures of biking through the beautiful gardens, along the lazy Vistula river, and through the colorful streets of Kazimierz. Despite being extensive, the tour is not too strenuous and is suitable for all levels of fitness. There are plenty of stops for historical explanations and photo opportunities. The duration of the bike tour is 3.5 to 4 hours, including a 45-minute break for lunch. The city bike tour begins every day under the Adam Mickiewicz statue in the main market square.  In the summer you can choose between the morning 4h tour of the Old Town, Kazimierz - Jewish District and Podgórze - the WWII Ghetto and the evening 2h tour of the Old Town and Kazimierz - Jewish District

Krakow: Old Town Guided Walking Tour

2. Krakow: Old Town Guided Walking Tour

Step back in time as you walk through Krakow’s Old Town. Not only will you experience the charm of its medieval architecture, but your professional and knowledgeable city guide will teach you about Poland’s history, unique symbols and traditions, and fun facts as well along the way. The highlight of the Old Town is the Royal Route. It begins in the northern part of the Old Town at St. Florian's Church, which contains the relics of the Patron Saint of Poland, St. Florian. The historic path continues on 3 streets, Floriańska, Grodzka, and Kanonicza. You will also walk through St. Florian's Gate, an impressive Gothic tower as well as the only remaining of the 8 medieval city gates. Next, you will visit the Main Market Square. This is the largest medieval square in Europe and home to many historic buildings. The central feature of the Square is the Sukiennice, a Renaissance Cloth Hall with fabulous arcades designed by Italian architect J.M. Padovano. The Royal Route comes to an end at the foot of the Wawel Hill, from which you can look up and admire the Wawel Royal Castle. Explore this impressive old residence of Polish monarchs and adventure into the Dragon’s Den below. The gorgeous Royal Private Apartments and Crown Treasury are a must see, as is the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Stanisław and Vaclav. The Old Town of Krakow Walking Tour will also include a visit to the Jagiellonian University district, home to the oldest university in Poland, and the beautiful Planty Park. You will have a 1/2 hour coffee break during the tour.
