Full description
From Sydney take a day trip to explore Australia's capital city, located in the Australian Capital Territory 3 hours south west from Sydney. A morning tea stop (own expense) on the way will allow you to stretch your legs and grab a coffee before arriving in Canberra, Australia's capital. . Drive past Yarralumla for a close look at the many national embassies, each one unique and designed to reflect aspects of the country's culture. Stop for 360 degree views over the capital city from Mount Ainslie and see how this city was well designed. Take a guided tour of the underground Parliament House, and get an understanding of Australia's democracy at work in this architectural masterpiece costing $1.1 billion in the 1980s! From the inner halls of power to walking on the roof, this is an amazing building. It's then off to Floriade, Australia's biggest celebration of spring with thousands of flowers and entertainment next to Lake Burley Griffin. Only running between September to October each year. Australia's biggest and most popular flower festival. Canberra's Commonwealth Park is transformed into a tapestry of colour with more than a million bulbs and annuals in bloom at this month-long festival. Rejoin the group for a time of reflection as you discover the legends of Gallipoli, the ANZACs, the sacrifices and losses suffered by Australians in past wars fought around the world at the Australian War Memorial. Return to Sydney arriving at approximately 8pm with a brief refreshment/dinner (own expense) stop on the return journey.

The tour can be planned in a better way. Pick up was late and the bus was uncomfortable. They stopped at a crowded place for breakfast and didn’t give enough time to finish it. Dinner stop was at McDonalds which didn’t have anything for vegetarians.
