The directions were straight forward and easy to follow to reach the meet up location. The unexpected walking tour to get a bit of history about the city was nice as well. Our tour guides were great. The ride was about 20 minutes. Shorter than expected but nice. The tilted gondola scared me a bit but they told us near the end that the water is actually shallow enough to stand in. The gondoliers are quite charming as well.

This was a nice 30 minute gondola ride through the canals. We heard from many people (including locals) that a gondola ride is a must-do during a trip to Venice but we didn’t want to pay 80 euro so this was a good compromise. I’m glad we included this in our trip since the canals are beautiful and the buildings in Venice are meant to be seen from the water, so the decorative facades face the canals. If you don’t want to pay the full price this shared ride is a great way to have the experience but it could be worth paying extra for a private ride. We also heard later on from a local that they recommend not booking online and instead using the gondola stands, which charge the city-wide rate of 80 euro during the day or 100 euro at night; otherwise the tour company takes a cut.

The way to the end point (according to Navi) was a cheek. First we stood in front of a barrier and then had to drive out backwards, although there were cars behind us - you only had to open the barrier so that you could turn properly, but the Italians at the barrier didn't care. Other cars had the same problem - then we wanted to drive somewhere else but the police closed the access so we took the nearest parking garage. Arrived on the parking floor, the next laugh: You parked in front of a car and should put the keys in and leave the car open to move the car if the car behind you wanted to get out beforehand. How can you come up with such an idea - we had the car full of luggage and if something was stolen or the whole car was gone, the insurance company wouldn't pay a cent. Then we took the next car park directly at the port-parking fee 22 €. Total rip off.
