The guides drive to a pickup spot where you get into a super jeep to travel the rest of the way to the cave entrance keep in mind the ride is bumpy once at the cave you walk to the entrance and you are taken to different spots for amazing pictures. You do have to do some climbing and jumping at the ice cave guides are super helpful though

Really enjoyed this excursion, our guide was really informative & full of knowledge & happy to answer questions that came up. There was 8 of us on our super jeep and 2 other party's of about the same number so it didn't feel to crowded at the cave itself. When we went onto the 2nd part of the cave it did feel a little rushed but acceptable. Had time to take lots of photographs but to also see what mother nature is doing but also what effect global warming is having on the glacier's. Actually seeing it 'in the flesh' brings it home as to what is really going on. Definetely recommend going to an ice cave, its not the cheapest excursion to do (3 adults, 1 teen), but well worth the money spent.

Marcel was our driver and we found his narrative on the drive lacked research, Marcel pointing things out but not being sure what it was or about when events had occurred. Hawk was the guide from Vik to, from, and in the ice cave. He was knowledgeable and helpful but his banter was taxing. I guess my expectations were for a little bit longer period in the cave but I understand the caves are a dynamic experience so one never knows how deep into the cave one is going to get. Overall, a good experience and worth the price.
