Maui: Whale Watch Kayaking and Snorkel Tour in Kihei

2. Maui: Whale Watch Kayaking and Snorkel Tour in Kihei

Kayak through Maui's blue ocean to embark on a whale watching adventure. This tour provides a perspective like no other. Gliding along the water, you will be eye-level with the ocean and can see the marine wildlife up-close and personal. After checking in, your expert guide will provide hands on instruction on how to manage your kayak, from landing, launching, paddling and how to get in and out for the snorkeling component. This tour features "sit on top" kayaks which makes for easy-on/easy-off access. Your guide will launch each kayak, setting you out into the great blue sea. As a group on the water, your guide will brief you about whats planned and where you will visit. To begin your adventure, you will paddle out to search for whales (whales are seasonal here and populations vary yearly). Along the way, your local guide will share island stories, information, folklore, and more. When the whales appear, you will have the opportunity to paddle along at a safe distance. Your guide will be well versed in "whale", and can explain and share each behavior that the whales are presenting. These whales migrate back to the Maui Channel each year to mate, give birth, and nurture their calves.  After whale watching, your group will paddle back to the shoreline along the reef to enjoy some snorkeling. The reef system in Hawaii is amazing, and will provide you with the opportunity to see many unique and fun things. The highlight for most is Hawaii's "Hono" or Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle. They are abundant in this area, making it one of the best spots in Hawaii to see them. Upon the end of the trip, your guide will re-huddle just off the beach, calling each kayak back in to land individually.

We did the 4 hour tour. It was a nice kayak ride. The water was to rough to snorkel at the 1st location unfortunately. The cleaning station was the best snorkeling location to see turtles. Kyle our guide was informative on the history of the island, whales ect. Really enjoyed it!

Kyle was awesome. Got us to see turtles without having the 100 plus people from the large tour boats. Saw turtles and Kyle was funny and knowledgeable Great day on the water

We all had a great time out on the kayaks and with snorkeling. Saw lots of fish and even turtles. Our guide Kyle, was the best and had an incredible attitude.

Super amazing experience! We were very lucky to spot 3 groups of the whales. John is very experienced and professional. He understands the whales’ movement!

Jake was awesome. Definitely knows his way around the kayak.
